Blox Fruits Update 30 represents one of the most substantial content drops for the game, featuring a comprehensive redesign of the First Sea, a brand-new Fruit with never-before-seen mechanics, and numerous quality-of-life enhancements that reshape how players experience the early game.
The First Sea receives a complete visual transformation in this update. All 16 islands have been reimagined with enhanced building details, improved textures, refined environmental elements, and better lighting throughout. Beyond aesthetics, every boss in the First Sea has been refreshed, and they now feature a secret awakened mode that players can encounter. The Gacha Dealer has relocated to Middletown as part of the restructuring. These changes give veteran players a compelling reason to return to the starting region rather than simply passing through it on their way to higher seas.
A major gameplay addition comes in the form of secret puzzles scattered across the First Sea. Each of the 16 islands contains three secret puzzles that players can complete to earn stars. In total, 40 new secrets are distributed across the redesigned islands, offering exploration rewards and varied challenges. Completing these secrets grants players secret levels, which enable progression beyond the previous level cap of 2,800. The new maximum level is now 3,000, achievable only by clearing all available secret levels. A new world map has been added to the heads-up display, allowing players to navigate between islands and track their progress on secret completion. This map unlocks after players complete their first secret. Additionally, a Secrets Master NPC has been introduced to the First Sea and holds a special secret of their own.
The centerpiece of Update 30 is the Magnet Fruit, which introduces gameplay mechanics previously absent from Blox Fruits. The Fruit features a passive Magnetic Power system that builds as players collect scrap, with three progressive stages that enhance melee attacks, extend combo chains, and provide defensive bonuses. Taking damage drains this power and can reduce the player's current stage. From stage two onward, nearby enemies are pulled toward the user, with stronger pull force and larger radius at stage three. The Fruit's active abilities include a Z move that fires magnetic projectiles with stacking effects, an X move that traps enemies in a magnetic cage, and a C move that drags opponents into the air for a slam or pulls in surrounding scrap. The F move serves dual purposes: tapping performs a grab that forcefully removes an opponent's sword, while holding enables free flight with usable skills in the air. Flight disables after multiple hits within a ten-second window. The Magnet Fruit also includes a Maximum Overdrive transformation that significantly reduces incoming damage, makes the user resistant to gunfire, and increases vulnerability to lightning attacks. During transformation, the Z move launches aim-assisted missiles, the X move creates a Magnetic Room that pulls enemies back to its center, and the C move gathers scrap for a ground slam or helicopter spin attack. The F move provides faster flight while transformed, and the V move untransforms, leaving behind a mech that pulls in nearby enemies before self-destructing.
A limited-time Magnet Gacha event accompanies the Fruit's release. Every hour on the hour, powered-up Magnetic enemies spawn throughout the game world. Defeating these enemies rewards Magnet Tokens, which players can spend on rolls at the Magnet Gacha. The gacha pool contains uncommon or better fruits, one profile background, two accessories, a secret reward, and a chance at skinned fruits from a chase reward tier that includes Lime Blade, Topaz Diamond, Scarlet Ghost, Yellow Lightning, Starlight Gravity, Runic Fiend, and Arcsteel Magnet. Players can also purchase Chromatic Gacha Boxes from the shop to access chase reward tier items directly.
The Dragon Fruit returns to the standard rollable Fruit pool in the Gacha, providing an additional acquisition method for players seeking this powerful Fruit. Meanwhile, the Venom rework and Divine Art fighting style remain unconfirmed for this update and may arrive in future patches.
Beyond content additions, Update 30 includes a substantial user interface overhaul. A new loading screen and team selection menu have been redesigned for clarity. The heads-up display and stats menu have been reworked, and the player profile now features new tabs, friend indicators, and search functionality. New NPC dialogue interfaces and animations improve interaction quality. Weapon Dealers now allow players to examine weapons before purchasing, while Boat Dealers provide previews of unlocked ships. Boss drops are previewed when approaching a boss encounter, helping players prepare for fights ahead.
These combined changes position Update 30 as a transformative patch that addresses both new and returning players, offering fresh content in the First Sea while introducing innovative Fruit mechanics and streamlining the overall user experience.
