Castlevania Goes Free on Mobile for 40th Anniversary

Konami has marked four decades of the Castlevania franchise by releasing the original game at no cost on mobile platforms. The classic gothic action title is now available as a free download on both Android and iOS devices, featuring a faithful port of the 1986 original with touchscreen controls optimized for mobile play. The game also supports offline functionality, allowing players to enjoy it without an internet connection.

Castlevania debuted in Japan in 1986 before launching internationally on the Nintendo Entertainment System, introducing protagonist Simon Belmont and his quest through Dracula's castle. The series has since expanded into a sprawling franchise spanning more than 30 titles across four decades.

The free availability runs through October 24, 2026 at 11:59 PM JST. Players who claim the game during this promotional window will retain access to it indefinitely, even after the offer expires, making it worthwhile to download while the promotion remains active.
