Baldur's Gate 3 console players have received a significant content update from Larian Studios, with the developer approving and uploading 41 new mods in a single week. The standout addition is a cheat menu that grants players unprecedented control over their gameplay experience.
The new "Cheaters Menu" mod, available in the console version's mod menu, contains more than 300 cheats designed to customize difficulty and streamline gameplay. Players can use these cheats during active playthroughs to instantly heal their entire party, grant experience points in varying amounts, remove status ailments, boost approval ratings with companions, eliminate nearby enemies, add spell slots, and permanently increase character statistics. The breadth of options available through this menu far exceeds any previous customization tools the game has offered.
Beyond the cheat menu, the remaining 40 additions introduce substantial gameplay and cosmetic enhancements. Multiple new subclasses have been added, including a dragon-focused Warlock variant that enables fire and acid breathing, flight, and treasure-hoarding mechanics inspired by dragon lore. A Psion class with five distinct subclasses brings homebrew content to the console platform, while the Spell Thief subclass allows mages to learn spells by observing enemy abilities. Additional subclass options include the Oath of the Noble Genies for Paladins and the Scion of Three for Rogues, both drawn from Forgotten Realms campaign material.
Character customization receives significant expansion through new armor sets, clothing options, and cosmetic items. These include shadow-themed equipment, ice-inspired outfits, sleep-themed armor, and necrotic-focused gear. Character creation has been enhanced with additional head presets for various body types, including new dragonborn variants. Companion-specific cosmetics have also been added, such as updated outfits for characters like Yenna and restored animations for certain character models.
Gameplay mechanics have been refined through several quality-of-life improvements. A new mod allows players to toggle buff and status effect durations, while another automatically casts daily spells and summons after long rests. The short rest system can now be capped at 100 uses per playthrough, and enemy encounters can be doubled for increased challenge. Paladin auras have been expanded with six new options available at level six, and the Dual Wielder feat has been enhanced with increased attribute bonuses and a new Twin Strike ability.

One particularly transformative addition is the "More Origins" mod, which allows players to recruit and play as numerous non-player characters as origin characters. This includes traditionally antagonistic figures like Raphael, Orin, and the Netherbrain, fundamentally altering how players can experience the game's narrative.
The update also includes a substantial armor and equipment pack called "Armouries of the Allegiant," which adds over 300 items themed around various factions within the game world, including the Harpers, Flaming Fist, Githyanki, and numerous other organizations. Musical instrument functionality has been enhanced through magical bells that increase player power, and new merchant NPCs have been added to expand trading opportunities.
This content drop represents one of the most significant updates for Baldur's Gate 3's console version since its release. The combination of the comprehensive cheat menu, multiple new classes and subclasses, and the ability to recruit any NPC as an origin character provides players with substantially more control over their gameplay experience and narrative possibilities. Larian's continued support for the console version, while maintaining an inconsistent release schedule, demonstrates the studio's commitment to expanding the game's content library for players on PlayStation and Xbox platforms.
