Irdeto, the company behind Denuvo's digital rights management technology, is escalating legal efforts to identify a prominent game cracker operating under the alias Voice38. The firm filed an expedited motion in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California requesting subpoenas directed at Valve, Discord, and Reddit to obtain account details, communications logs, IP addresses, and transaction histories tied to the suspect.
Voice38 has emerged as one of the most active entities in the game-cracking scene over the past year, claiming responsibility for circumventing Denuvo's anti-tamper protections on approximately 30 to 39 major PC titles. The cracker's consistent success in breaking the widely-used DRM system has posed a significant challenge to Denuvo's market position.
Irdeto's investigation has already traced cryptocurrency transactions associated with Voice38 through FixedFloat, a non-custodial crypto exchange platform, by monitoring digital wallets believed connected to the cracker. However, the company has not yet issued a direct subpoena to the exchange itself.

Denuvo initiated the anti-circumvention lawsuit in September 2026. When the legal action was announced, Voice38 responded dismissively on Reddit, stating that operations would continue uninterrupted. Since that declaration, the cracker has maintained an active pace, releasing additional game cracks.
The legal pursuit reflects growing frustration within Denuvo as the cracking community has become so prolific that available games to crack reportedly became scarce by 2026, prompting the company to pursue litigation as an alternative enforcement strategy.
