Rockstar Games has announced six radio stations coming to Grand Theft Auto VI, giving players access to a broad spectrum of musical genres while exploring the game's setting of Leonida. The stations range from Latin and country music to African sounds, heavy metal, pop, and southern hip-hop.
Cocoteo FM, hosted by El Martillo and La Gata, will deliver modern Latin music including reggaeton, bachata, merengue, and dembow. Back Country Radio caters to country enthusiasts with renegade tracks hosted by MW and Delta Dawne, featuring contributions from a character named Mud Dog Mike who reports from an airboat in the Grassrivers region. AfroBank FM, hosted by Burna and Palmsy, combines African music spanning 20th-century classics, obscure recordings, and contemporary genres like amapiano and 3-step. The Chamber 106.6 serves metal fans with classic heavy metal from the 1980s onward, hosted by DJs Kerry and Tom. Flash FM, a returning station from earlier Grand Theft Auto games, brings pop music hosted by Robyn and Alex. Dirty South Classics, hosted by Trick and Trina, focuses on southern rap and hip-hop classics tied to the region.
A significant innovation for the series is the ability to listen to radio stations while walking around the game world. Rather than confining music to vehicles, players can use in-game smartphones with connected headphones or earbuds to continue listening on foot. Rockstar is also introducing podcasts to the Grand Theft Auto franchise for the first time, accessible both inside and outside vehicles.
Rockstar has made audio previews of all six stations available on its official website, allowing players to sample the music before the game launches. The company has indicated that additional information about GTA VI's soundtrack is forthcoming, including details about a dynamic score system and more radio content.
