Crunchyroll has launched a temporary retail experience in Seoul's Hongdae district to mark its official entry into the South Korean streaming market. The "Crunchyroll Festival Korea 2026" pop-up store, located on the second floor of AK Plaza Hongdae, opened on October 24 and will remain open through November 8.

The offline festival attracted approximately 1,600 visitors on its opening day, with steady foot traffic continuing throughout weekday hours. The venue features multiple interactive zones designed to engage anime enthusiasts, including photo installations themed around recent anime releases and merchandise displays showcasing Crunchyroll's popular titles.
Visitors can participate in photo experiences inspired by "Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc" and "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle Chapter 1." The store also offers four-frame photo booth sessions with custom borders featuring these series and Crunchyroll branding. A dedicated wall allows fans to leave messages celebrating their favorite shows and characters, while video content and promotional posters highlight the platform's content library.
A merchandise shop operates within the space, offering anime-related products alongside a stamp collection game where participants can enter drawings to win Chainsaw Man items, subject to availability. One attendee noted that the event provided convenient access to activities and merchandise, while also highlighting the value of Crunchyroll's service in offering anime titles unavailable elsewhere or previously removed from other streaming platforms.
Beyond the pop-up store, Crunchyroll is building its presence in South Korea through expanded programming. A live performance took place on October 25, with an exclusive anime screening event scheduled for October 31 at CGV Hongdae, featuring three Crunchyroll-exclusive titles.
