South Korean esports organization T1 has been eliminated from the 2026 LCK Playoffs after falling to Hanwha Life Esports in the Lower Bracket Final on September 12. The match, held at the KSPO Dome in Seoul Olympic Park, ended 3-1 in favor of Hanwha Life Esports, marking another disappointing finish for the storied franchise in their regional competition.
The loss is particularly notable given T1's extended absence from the LCK championship stage. The organization last claimed an LCK title in 2022 when they won the Spring Split with an undefeated record. That four-year gap represents a significant drought for a team historically synonymous with regional dominance, having captured ten LCK championships across various splits since 2013.

While T1's recent international success has been remarkable—the team won three consecutive World Championships in 2023, 2024, and 2025—their regional performance has lagged considerably. The contrast between their Worlds achievements and LCK struggles highlights the different competitive landscapes these tournaments represent. Following their 2022 LCK victory, which came after achieving the historic V10 record, T1 has struggled to replicate that regional success.
With no remaining official matches until the 2026 World Championship in October, T1 will have an extended off-season to address the shortcomings exposed during this LCK season. Some players are expected to compete individually at the Asian Games, but the team's primary focus will likely be preparation for Worlds, where they have established themselves as the dominant force in competitive League of Legends.
