In Graveyard Keeper 2, the donkey serves as your primary means of obtaining corpses for your graveyard operations. This beast of burden delivers fresh bodies that you can then autopsy, bury, or convert into zombies. Understanding how the donkey works is essential for managing your graveyard efficiently and keeping your workflow moving smoothly.
Once you complete the Certificate, Please quest, the donkey begins making regular deliveries to your morgue. The creature typically arrives every two in-game days, which translates to roughly 15 minutes of real-world time, since each full day in the game lasts approximately 7.5 minutes. When the donkey arrives, you'll hear a bell notification, so you don't need to stand idle waiting for it. Simply head outside your morgue when you hear the signal and collect the delivered body.
The donkey's delivery schedule isn't entirely predictable, however. The game uses a chance-based system where the probability of a delivery increases or decreases based on previous visits. Each successful delivery slightly raises the chance that the donkey will miss the next one, while missed deliveries increase the likelihood of the next visit occurring. This means while two days is the standard interval, you might occasionally experience gaps of four or even five days between deliveries.

If the donkey stops delivering bodies entirely, the most common culprit is insufficient morgue space. When your morgue reaches capacity, the donkey will skip the delivery rather than drop a body outside. Initially, you can only store one corpse, but you can expand this capacity by using Corpse Pallets. Each pallet adds one additional storage slot, so having two pallets allows you to hold up to three bodies simultaneously. Always ensure you've processed any existing bodies before expecting a new delivery.
Unfortunately, there's no way to accelerate the donkey's visit frequency. While a later-game quest does unlock the ability to receive additional bodies through other means, it doesn't increase how often the donkey appears. The creature's schedule remains governed by the chance system, making patience a necessary virtue when managing your graveyard operations.
