Black Clover: The Anime’s Most Powerful Swords Ranked

In the magical world of Black Clover, created by manga artist Yūki Tabata, spellcasting grimoires are not the only instruments of power on the battlefield. Across the anime series—which aired from 2017 to 2021—and its feature film adaptation, specialized blades serve as some of the most destructive arms available to mages, devil hosts, and anti-magic knights alike.

At the top of the weapon hierarchy stands Asta's anti-magic arsenal, led by the Demon-Slasher Katana. Beyond anti-magic arms, royal traditions and elemental spirits offer immense physical power. Elsdocia, a crystal blade crafted by the first Wizard King, holds soul fragments and magic from past leaders of the Clover Kingdom. Capable of devastating an entire nation if misused, it was famously used by Asta against Conrad Leto in the movie Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King. Similarly, Yuno Grinberryall uses his Wind Spirit Sylph to manifest the Spirit of Zephyr. At full resonance, this mana blade reaches Saint Stage, allowing Yuno to erode enemy defenses, summon tornados, and counter devilish forces.

Dark magic users and squad captains also employ specialized conjured blades in combat.
