Star Wars: Galactic Racer does not include split-screen co-op functionality, though the racing title offers robust online multiplayer options for players looking to compete with friends and other racers.
The absence of local co-op stems from hardware limitations. The game features high-speed racing and detailed graphics that would suffer significant performance degradation if split-screen were implemented. Supporting simultaneous local play would force compromises in visual fidelity and frame rates, ultimately diminishing the overall experience. Developers prioritized maintaining the game's visual quality and smooth performance over couch co-op capabilities.
Online multiplayer remains fully supported across platforms. Star Wars: Galactic Racer features cross-platform play, allowing players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam or Epic Games) to race together regardless of their hardware choice.

Race sizes vary depending on the game mode. Standard Multiplayer Tour and Quick Race events accommodate up to 12 players per session, while Quick Podrace and Podracing Tour modes support 8 players maximum. The game automatically fills empty slots with AI-controlled competitors, ensuring races can begin without waiting for full lobbies.
Friends can team up through the Party system in the Multiplayer menu. Currently, parties support a maximum of three players at launch. However, developer Fuse Games has announced plans to expand party capacity to six players in a future update, enabling larger groups to queue together into multiplayer races against random opponents.
The game launched on October 6, 2026, published by Secret Mode and developed by Fuse Games.
