Phasmophobia is hosting its Crimson Eye event, bringing Halloween-themed content and rewards to the supernatural investigation game. Running from October 8 through November 1, 2026, the event introduces Blood Moon weather conditions, mystical Totems, themed cosmetics, and an ornamental trophy for players to pursue.
The event rewards system operates through point accumulation tied to normal gameplay. Players earn Crimson Eye points primarily by completing investigation contracts when Blood Moon weather is active. The progression system includes both community-wide goals that track collective player advancement and individual personal goals that determine which specific rewards each player unlocks.
To maximize event point gains, players should prioritize contracts on maps guaranteed to have Blood Moon weather. Each day, four maps from an eight-map rotation receive guaranteed Blood Moon conditions. The eligible maps are 6 Tanglewood Drive, 42 Edgefield Road, Grafton Farmhouse, 13 Willow Street, Bleasdale Farmhouse, Point Hope, Camp Woodwind, and Nell's Diner. Before starting a contract, players can check which maps have Blood Moon weather indicated by a small red circle marker in the contract selection screen.
Difficulty settings directly impact point rewards. Contracts set below a 1x difficulty multiplier do not award any event points, so players cannot progress by selecting easier investigations. Correctly identifying the ghost during an investigation provides the largest single point reward, while completing optional objectives and interacting with Totems during Blood Moon weather grants additional progress within the same contract.
The event features two community goals that automatically reward all participating players once unlocked. Completing the first community goal grants the Beholder ID Card cosmetic. The second community goal unlocks both the Crimson Eye 2026 Charm and an animated version of the Beholder ID Card. These rewards are automatically granted to players' accounts when they log in after the goals are completed.
Personal progression requires accumulating 3,500 total event points to complete all five personal goals. These individual milestones progressively unlock cosmetic items and trophy upgrades exclusive to the Crimson Eye event. Unlike community rewards, personal rewards must be earned through individual contract completion and point accumulation.
The most efficient approach involves focusing on the four daily maps with guaranteed Blood Moon weather and consistently completing investigations on eligible difficulty settings. Since point rewards stack across multiple contracts, players simply need to engage in regular investigation activities while taking advantage of the enhanced opportunities available during Blood Moon weather conditions. No unusual gameplay modifications are necessary beyond participating in qualifying contracts throughout the event period.
