Last Pirates: Die Together, a physics-based cooperative comedy-horror game developed by Retrostyle, has received a substantial update as the team prepares for the game's full release in 2027. The September 1, 2026 patch introduces numerous quality-of-life improvements and fixes designed to smooth out gameplay issues that emerged during the game's early access period.
The update overhauls several core systems. Daily progress now saves at the end of each in-game day rather than only at chapter completion, eliminating the frustration of losing progress if players fail to advance. Combat has been rebalanced to make solo play more accessible, with monsters receiving nerfs and large objects becoming lighter and easier to transport. The voice communication system has been expanded from a simple toggle to three distinct modes: always active, push-to-talk, and toggle-to-talk, giving players greater control over their audio experience.
Multiplayer functionality has also improved. Public lobbies are now the default setting, streamlining the process of finding cooperative partners, though players can still manually switch to private sessions when preferred. Steam Deck users benefit from targeted fixes addressing keyboard navigation bugs and mouse sensitivity settings that previously appeared incorrectly when using a gamepad.
New content has also arrived on the Ship levels, where a large, destructible Titanic structure can be broken apart and collected piece by piece for resource gathering. To celebrate these improvements, the developers are offering a limited-time 20 percent discount and a special event. Additionally, advanced locations including the Ship and Castle levels are temporarily accessible to all players through September 9, 2026, removing the need to progress through the Mansion first.
