The Manumit hideout in Blood of Dawnwalker serves as a crucial location for players progressing through the main quest "A Deal with the Devil." This underground base, operated by a secret faction working to overthrow Kniaz Brencis, can be found in the southern district of Svartrau, positioned southwest of the Cathedral.
Locating the hideout requires identifying a distinctive building with a yellow lattice façade. The Manumit maintain operational secrecy by running a tailor shop on the ground floor as cover for their underground activities. Players must navigate past the main shop area and use a side door to access the basement staircase, which leads down to where the faction conducts its operations.
Before gaining access to the hideout, players need to complete a series of quests. The path begins with two side missions: "The Firebrand," which takes place at a Military camp, followed by "Shadows in the Woods." After these are finished, players can undertake the core Manumit questline mission "Where Loyalty Lies," which ultimately grants access to the hideout. Alternatively, players can skip the side quest content and proceed directly to the marked building location.
Once unlocked, the hideout offers several valuable features. Key faction members, including Nightingale, operate from the basement and provide access to faction-specific side quests. The location also serves as a refuge for displaced residents, including Vladimir, a character from the protagonist Coen's home village. Players can freely collect items and resources found throughout the hideout without triggering theft penalties, as supplies are communally shared among faction members.

The hideout includes an Armorer stationed in the basement, providing a convenient hub for purchasing, selling, and upgrading equipment. However, the location lacks a Fast Travel point for direct access. Players with high Infamy ratings, who are being actively hunted by local guards, should consider fast traveling to a nearby Shrine in the same district and approaching the building through back alleys or rooftops to avoid patrols.
Regular visits to the hideout become necessary for players pursuing a potential romance storyline with Nightingale, making it an important destination beyond its practical utility as a faction base and resource hub.
