EPID Games has released an alpha build teaser for its upcoming collectible RPG, Trickcal Fatima, offering the first substantial look at gameplay mechanics and visual direction for the title announced in June.
The game builds on the Trickcal intellectual property and targets players drawn to character-focused gaming experiences. Its aesthetic centers on anime-style character designs with distinctive visual appeal, set in a near-future world that blends slice-of-life elements with action gameplay. The teaser video, released on November 2, compiles footage from an early alpha test to demonstrate the game's core systems.
The interface begins with a signature mechanic: players pull a character's cheek to initiate the game, which then transitions to an animated lobby where characters move through a city environment. From there, players navigate menus for recruiting new characters and accessing a progression system called WorkNet. Character growth relies on a personality-based attribute framework and incorporates features such as an Album system similar to previous titles. Rather than stage-clearing mechanics, Trickcal Fatima emphasizes farming and enhancing equipment pieces called relics, with an emphasis on optimizing item options.
Combat uses a four-character party in a turn-based system governed by speed and action gauges. The teaser highlights dynamic camera work that shifts to emphasize character positioning during skill animations, and characters respond to specific interactions. The footage includes a boss encounter to showcase the intensity of late-game battles. Growth content labeled Full Ownership Tour and exploration modes round out the main activity structure.
During the video presentation, EPID Games leadership discussed the studio's vision and current priorities. CEO Han Jeong-hyun emphasized the team's focus on animation quality and visual effects, noting that the studio is actively seeking a publishing partner to enable full development resources. Producer Lee Hyun-seung added that securing a global publisher would allow the team to concentrate entirely on game development rather than publishing logistics.
The studio plans to begin recruiting closed beta testers during the first quarter of 2027. Additional details about the beta program will be shared through the game's official teaser page in coming months.
