Google Search adds AI fantasy football helper for draft

Google has expanded its Search capabilities with new tools designed to support fantasy football players throughout the season. The update introduces AI Mode as a fantasy consultant, allowing users to connect their Yahoo Fantasy or Sleeper accounts directly to Search for personalized recommendations.

Once linked, AI Mode can access a player's live roster and league information to suggest optimal starting lineups, identify free agents worth adding, and provide strategic advice tailored to individual team needs. The feature leverages Google's existing ability to integrate third-party apps into AI Mode, extending that functionality into the fantasy sports domain.

Beyond roster management, Google is enhancing how fans track games in real time. A new Live Game Feed displays ongoing scores alongside play-by-play updates, video highlights, and game recaps as events unfold. Searching for specific matchups generates a carousel showing scores from other games in the same league, while player searches surface up-to-date statistics. The search results also include information about team win probabilities and upcoming bracket matchups.

The fantasy football features and Live Game Feed are now available in English across the United States. The score carousel and player statistics features will roll out globally on mobile devices. Google's timing aligns with the start of the football season, positioning these tools as resources for both casual and serious fantasy players managing their teams throughout the year.
