Apple has quietly increased the cost of its previous-generation iPhones by $100 each, even as the company emphasized price stability for its latest smartwatch offerings during its recent product event.
The price hikes affect multiple models in Apple's current lineup. The iPhone 16 now starts at $799, climbing from its previous $699 price point and returning to its original 2024 launch cost. The iPhone 17, with 256GB of storage, has moved to $899 from $799. The iPhone Air saw its entry price jump to $1,099, up from $999.
Apple's newest entry-level model, the iPhone 17E, begins at $699—a significant increase from the $599 price at which it launched earlier this year. Meanwhile, the company made no mention of these price adjustments during its product announcement, instead highlighting that the Apple Watch 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 maintained their previous pricing at $399 and $799 respectively.
Accessory pricing remained unchanged. The AirPods Pro 3 continued to sell for $249, with analysts suggesting the lack of a price increase may relate to the product's design and feature set compared to the iPhone models.
