Rockstar Games unveiled extensive new footage of Grand Theft Auto 6 on August 27, offering players their most detailed glimpse of the upcoming title yet. The presentation, called the Extended Look, showcased gameplay running on PlayStation 5, featuring the game's setting of Vice City, its two main characters Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, combat sequences, and police pursuits.
Despite the comprehensive reveal, one critical detail remained absent: any announcement regarding a PC version. With the console launch scheduled for November 19, Rockstar has confirmed the game for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only, leaving PC gamers without clarity on whether they will eventually play the title on their platform.
This silence grows more concerning as the release date approaches. PC players who lack access to consoles face the prospect of either purchasing expensive hardware or waiting an uncertain length of time for a port. Rockstar's historical track record offers little comfort. Grand Theft Auto 5 arrived on PC nearly two years after its console debut, while Red Dead Redemption 2 took a year. However, Max Payne released on PC just two weeks after consoles, suggesting variable timelines depending on the project.
The extended wait for GTA 5's PC version—19 months—represents a worst-case scenario that PC gamers hope to avoid. Currently, Rockstar has provided no official statement regarding PC availability or timing. Console players can proceed with confidence that the November 19 launch remains on schedule for their platforms, but PC enthusiasts must continue waiting for answers about their platform's future access to the game.
