Moonlighter 2 contains six hidden treasures scattered throughout its three biomes, each offering exclusive recipes for crafting powerful weapons, armor, and companions. Successfully locating all of them requires careful exploration and completion of specific quest requirements before attempting collection.
Before hunting for any hidden treasure, players must first obtain the corresponding quest from Eris at Tresna. Without claiming the quest beforehand, the portal leading to the treasure will not appear in the region. After exploring a new region for the first time, return to Eris to unlock all available hidden treasure quests.
Kalina Day Realm Treasure
The first treasure lies within the node marked by a hammer icon, where players typically upgrade their weapons with legendary options. Rather than heading straight to the blacksmith, look for a wooden bridge on the right side of the staircase. The bridge is partially hidden, so approach carefully and move slowly across it to avoid falling off-screen. Upon reaching the other side, a green portal awaits at the end of the path.
Entering this portal launches a platformer mission featuring multiple obstacles. There are no retries if you lose all health, so patience is essential. At the mission's end, you'll claim the recipe for The Vow, a heavy blade craftable at Tresna's blacksmith.
Kalina Night Realm Treasure
This treasure requires an indirect approach. After unlocking the Night Realm and visiting it once, return to Eris and open the Upgrades menu. Purchase the Onsen Room node, located at the bottom of the first skill tree. This node appears in all future adventures just before the final boss, and in the Night Realm specifically, it hosts the hidden treasure.
Progress to the Onsen Room node and enter the healing pool. Instead of taking the stairs upward, follow the narrow passage on the right side to discover another portal. The subsequent mission involves defeating multiple waves of slimes rather than navigating traps. Powering up your special attack beforehand is recommended, especially when using short swords. Dodging before slimes attack makes them manageable. Upon defeating all enemies, collect the Blu-Buddy recipe at the path's end.
The Gallery Exhibition Wing Treasure
Locate this treasure in the mini-boss room. After defeating the mini-boss and reaching the reward chests, descend the staircase on the left side and enter the portal beyond. This mission emphasizes surviving deadly traps and moving laser beams, presenting greater difficulty than the Kalina challenges. Quick dodging is crucial, though several rest areas provide brief respites.
Completion yields the Heartbeat Hunter recipe, a pair of gauntlets, along with two additional chests as rewards.
The Gallery Treasury Halls Treasure
Success here depends on choosing paths with numerous Question Mark nodes. The treasure portal appears exclusively in a Question Mark node featuring Silver, a merchant specializing in relic quality upgrades. If you encounter a different NPC instead, continue exploring other Question Mark nodes until you find Silver.
After accepting one of Silver's offerings, use the staircase behind him to reach the portal. Move carefully along the invisible path to avoid falling. The platformer challenge includes multiple branching paths leading to dead ends. Look for a desk with a book at the path's end to confirm you're on the correct route. Successfully navigating this puzzle grants the Blo-Blitz recipe, a dual-wield weapon craftable at Tresna.
Aeolia Zephyr Fields Treasure
Unlock Aeolia, the final biome, through main quest progression. Zephyr Fields, its first region, hosts the easiest hidden treasure—a pure platforming puzzle with no combat or deadly traps. The portal appears at the starting node where you encounter the red and blue ladies.
After passing these characters, look left just before the usual teleporter zipline. An upward-facing zipline marks the treasure's location. Following the correct zipline path through the puzzle leads to the top level of the starting area. This region rewards you with the Blo-Blaster recipe.
Aeolia Howling Harbor Treasure
Unlocking Howling Harbor requires completing the side quest "Souls Forever Lost 2" from Julien, an NPC south of Tresna near the staircase. Unlock Julien by paying 500 coins to a hand emerging from a nearby portal. Note that Julien only accepts visitors during daytime hours.
Once Howling Harbor is accessible, locate a Question Mark node featuring Anacard, an NPC accompanied by a young boy who offers damage-upgrading challenges. A secret path exists just behind Anacard near the staircase. Following this downward path and using the zipline prompt leads to the mission portal. The puzzle resembles the Zephyr Fields challenge but provides a helpful hint: bulletin boards displaying two notes indicate the correct path. Reaching the end grants the Nimbus Regalia recipe, a new armor piece.
